Markus Sippe wins IPO 2009 in Dublin

21 October 2009 No Comment

Time to catch up.
The IPO is now but a distant memory, we enjoyed Dublin so much we thought we’d stay a couple of extra days and taste some of that special Guinness they don’t let out of Ireland.
Now the dust has cleared (and the hangovers) here is a quick rundown of the Boyles sponsored IPO 2009 tournament.

The 3 day event was won by the relatively unknown German player Markus Sippe. Markus scooped the top prize ($62,250) from Irishman Jaye Renehan after only 10 minutes of heads up action.

header_winnerNotable mentions must go to the voice of the ‘Poker Show Live’, Jesse May. Not normally known for his prowess on the tables,  he came an impressive 52nd beating  1348 players and pocketing £700.

Cyprus poker Network player Kim Vernon, probably too busy tweeting to concentrate on his game, Kim came unstuck when he ran into a pair of queens early on. He failed to make the money but was last seen fleecing a large group of French players in a side game at the event.

Here is the top 150 finishers to what was an excellent tournament. Hope to see you in 2010!
