Andy Black, Party Poker & more from ‘Sandwichgate’
The final of the Party Poker World Open final looks like it should be a real corker!
Irish poker pro Andy Black secured his seat from heat 5 on the final table yesterday.
Fulltilt Poker Pro Andy will join Phil ‘ Unabomer’ Laak, Jennifer ‘nice pair’ Tilly, Luke ‘fullflush1′ Schwartz and amateur Party Poker player and online qualifier Jan Vein.
In the meantime Luke Schwartz has come clean about what has become known as ‘Sandwichgate’. On the pokerlistings.com website Luke defends stealing the sandwich from the Grosvenor Casino. an act which saw him barred from the casino and threw his participation in the Party Poker World open V thrown into jeopardy.
“All the f***ing swings in poker, the beats, the coolers, they build up after a while. So I was frustrated, yeah, but it’s still not a crime. It’s a f***ing sandwich. I’d just paid like £30,000 to play in the High Roller and the EPT. That’s like £1000 in rake. Who f***ing cares about a five pound sandwich? It should be free”
He also went on to reveal the sandwich in question was not in fact (as widely reported) egg mayonnaise, but a much classier Smoked Salmon (pictured). No wonder the Grosvenor wasn’t happy!
