PKR Heads Up Result – From Russia with heart(s)
Poker news – Vladimir Geshkenbein took first place at the PKR Heads Up Grand Slam Poker Tournament in London over the weekend.
By beating 32year old Finnish player Juha Helpp in the final gam Vladimir takes a nice cheque (courtesy of PKR) for £120,000 back to Russia. It is not the first heads-up tournament he has won this year, he beat no less than Johnny Chan in a heads-up game at this years APPT High Rollers event (pictured).
Seems like he may be a new player to look out for in up-coming tournaments. (And definitely one to avoid playing heads up against!)
Here is the final payout information from the PKR Heads Up Grand Slams tournament
1 $ 120,000 Vladimir Geshkenbein
2 $ 70,000 Juha Helppi
3 $ 45,000 Alex Torelli
4 $ 35,000 James Sudworth
5 $ 20,000 Tony G
6 $ 20,000 Ian Frazier
7 $ 20,000 Lex Veldhuis
8 $ 20,000 David Steicke
We like the PKR Pokerroom here at the Cyprus Poker Network. The only draw back is it’s hard to play multi tables, but if you wish to immerse yourself in a game of ‘real’ poker without leaving your favourite chair its the nearest thing you can get to it. If you haven’t tried it click on the banner to download the rather large, (but excellent) software.

wtf is that picture? thats not the winner
Well spotted, we have put a picture of Vladimir in now. Think someone was having a joke!
