Hellmuth feeling humble after a WSOPE drubbing
In an unscheduled interview with Jesse May from The Pokershow Live, Phil Hellmuth was recently sounding humble after his dismal performance at this years WSOPE.
Chatting candidly and in a reflective mood Hellmuth sounded hurt over Doyle Brunson’s comments about his entrance to The WSOPE dressed as Caesar.
“Maybe I’ve been a bit too egotistical” he admitted – Y’a think! – going on to explain
how hard it is to have people telling him how great he is… Who’s that Phil? Who?
He was also critical of Caesars Cup Captains Daniel Negreanu and Annette Obrestaad.
Saying of Obersraad “I think Annete’s amazing, but she’s not supposed to be Captain. I don’t care if she wins 10 bracelets by the time she’s thirty, and she might.. I have all therespect for her but we’re talking about a Captaincy here…. Daniel’s not supposed to be Captain he’s not in the top five people who should be Captains.
Citing Doyle as his number 1 choice and Johnny Chan and himself – naturally -as number 2 .Maybe he was pissed off with Annette telling him “Get the f**k from off our side Phil” and Daniel putting him up against the unemployed Scottish pipe inspector internet qualifier John Harvey at the Caesars Cup.(see Annette incident here.)
After a slight technical hitch Hellmuth called back speculating on Harrah’s entry into online poker.
