30 September 2009 2 Comments

betfair_wsopAfter 13 days at the WSOPE your intrepid reporter is suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome and still has the forthcoming EPT london to cover more on that soon….Before the final day kick’s off, here’s a quick run down of the Betfair WSOPE Main Event so far.

Phil Ivey busted out early, as did Dario Minieri, Patrik Antonius, Huck Seed and David Pham. Other notables to exit were Roland de Wolfe, Mark Teltscher, Vanessa Rousso and Ben Grundy.

Day 1b: 178 runners started Day 1b finishing with 107 through to day 2

Another star studded event with Annette Obrestad, Chris Ferguson, Barry Greenstein and Daniel Negreanu to name a few all sitting at the same table!!

By the end of the day 71 players including Howard Lederer, Scott Fischman, Sorel Mizzi, Nenad Medic, Joe Sebok, Peter Eastgate, Michael “Timex” Mcdonald, Vitaly Lunkin, Alec Torelli, J.C. Tran, William Thorson, Jean-Robert Bellande, Carlos Mortensen, Michael Martin, and Robert Williamson III.

Day 2: 178 runners started Day 2 finishing with 92

A short day of 4 levels saw Erik Seidel, Phil Hellmuth, David Williams, Mike Matusow, Daniel Alaei, Barry Greenstein, Mike Matusow, Shaun Deeb, Michael Tureniec, and Alex Kravchenko bite the dust.

Day 3: 92 runners started Day 2 finishing with 36

Big name bust outs included Annette Obrestaad, Justin Boosted Smith. Antonio Estfandiari.
James Akenhead, Devilfish, Daniel Negreanu, Men Nguyen and, of course, ‘Texas Dolly’ Doyle Brunson made the money.

The most unfortunate bubble boy being John Tabatabai the runner up of the first WSOPE who got it all in with AhAd against peter Gould’d 7s7d ending with a board of 7c,Js,10h,9h,10s. Our sympathy goes out to John.
